The Position

We have an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer.  All roles are 100% remote currently, but we plan to go back into our Portland offices part time after COVID.  You should have several years of experience in technical sales, with emphasis on live demos, end-user training, and providing technical leadership throughout our sales process.  Your IT/DevOps/Development and or Vulnerability Management experience couples with your enthusiasm for sales to help you clearly articulate and demonstrate the value of DeepSurface’s products to any audience.  Expect to discuss problems customers have and the solutions DeepSurface provides with people across the technical spectrum; from the most-technical people you’ll ever meet to the mildly-technical.

Our Sales Engineers are the key link between the Sales and Development teams.  We expect you to work with both our Sales and Development teams daily.  As such, we expect you to have some mastery of the tools on both sides.  Having some experience with Salesforce is a plus, but we would also like you to be comfortable in both Linux and Windows environments and well-versed in their command-line tooling, services, and network/domain administration.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the Sales Engineer include but are not be limited to:

  • Own the technical side of sales opportunities.  This includes demos, capturing information about the opportunity’s technical requirements, installation, troubleshooting and knowledge transfer
  • Own all technical requirements of an opportunity
  • Understand the security problems an opportunity has, and how to map DeepSurface’s solutions to those problems
  • Perform live, interactive demonstrations of our products
  • Help install and troubleshoot our products
  • Transfer knowledge via documentation, presentations and training
  • Understand, evangelize and educate on the concept of vulnerability prioritization and analysis
  • Be part of the bridge between Sales and Development to help communicate issues
  • Provide reports/feedback to Sales, Product and Development teams on customer accounts, activities, and issues
  • Provide assistance to Support Engineers
  • Document Sales Engineering processes

Personal Skills

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing
  • Handle multiple demands in an interrupt-driven environment and be able to track your own work without losing track of important details or tasks
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Enterprise pre-sales is highly desirable
  • Some knowledge of Application security
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services
  • Experience in in both Linux and Windows platforms, specifically with regard to enterprise technologies
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies
  • Located in or near Portland, Oregon
