Business Development Representative

As a remote Business Development Representative, you are empowered to identify and connect with security and IT leaders in a wide variety of industries and take ownership in generating meaningful security conversations that lead to sales opportunities. As the first person most potential customers will interact with at DeepSurface, you will introduce the DeepSurface product value proposition to prospects and work to generate qualified leads and new business to fuel DeepSurface’s pipeline and growth.

In a typical day, you will:

  • Execute targeted outbound campaigns to identify new prospects, establish the need and fit, and arrange a product introduction. 
  • Initiate communications and provide live engagement with prospect conversations to keep leads moving forward.
  • Perform specific outbound activities such as cold calling, personalized emails, and LinkedIn outreach to hit monthly metrics and goals. 
  • Manage, track, and report on all activities and results using Salesforce.
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly quotas for introductory meetings with our ideal customer profiles.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully meeting lead generation targets within the cybersecurity industry.
  • 1-3 years experience in roles such as business/sales development, direct sales, or marketing in the B2B software industry and experience with value-based selling and/or solution selling concepts.
  • Technical aptitude and experience with outbound tools and Salesforce CRM.
  • Ability to manage several leads at a time while paying close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, great organizational skills, and comfortable working with a small sales team in a startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conceptually understand a technical solution and explain it on a high level.
  • Someone who is quick on their feet, is not easily discouraged, and excels at driving meaningful conversations online, via email, and over the phone.

The impact you will have in the first 6 months:

  • Partner with the sales team to provide consistent levels of top of funnel activity to support an exciting growth trajectory.

The impact you will have in first 12 months:

  • Successfully building a top of funnel program that delivers high volumes of qualified leads, enabling DeepSurface’s next phase of growth.
  • Planning and orchestrating new and creative outbound strategies/marketing efforts to build market awareness of DeepSurface
